Systematic review on the prevention effect of dexrazoxane on cardiotoxicity and its economic evaluation in breast cancer patients with anthracycline-based chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective:To systematically review the prevention effect of dexrazoxane on cardiotoxicity and its economic evaluation in breast cancer patients with anthracycline-based chemotherapy.Methods:We searched databases including Pubmed,Science Direct,The Cochrane Library,EMbase,CNKI,WanFang Data and VIP,to systematically search published studies involving the prevention effect of dexrazoxane on cardiotoxicity and its economic evaluation in breast cancer patients with anthracycline-based chemotherapy,and assessed the quality of these studies.Results:A total of 9 studies were included,involving 6 clinical studies (7 clinical trials) and 3 economic evaluation studies.Dexrazoxane significantly reduced the occurrence of cardiac event and congestive heart failure in 7 clinical trials.Among 3 economic evaluation studies,2 studies showed the economics of dexrazoxane combined with anthracycline.Another study did not explicitly indicate its conclusion.Conclusion:Dexrazoxane has the significant cardioprotection in breast cancer patients treated with anthracycline-based chemotherapy.However,the studies of economic evaluation are extremely limited,and more studies are needed to confirm its economics.
