Progress in researches on the effects of active components in traditional Chinese medicines for increasing ROS in cancer

Abstract：Reactive oxygen species (ROS) is closely related to cancer,and therefore is regarded as a popular target for the research of cancer in recent years.On one hand,ROS is an inducing factor for the occurrence of cancer.On the other hand,increasing the ROS in cancer cells can prompt the apoptosis and autophagy as well as inhibit the propagation and drug fast of the cancer cells.To date,multiple active components in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) have been found to be effective for increasing the ROS level in cancer cells and then suppressing the cancer.This paper reviewed the active components in TCM which are effective to treat cancer through increasing the ROS level,so as to provide references to the development and application of anti-tumor active components.
