Research progress in visualization of alginate embolic microspheres and being as drug carriers

Abstract：Commercial sodium alginate microspheres embolic material (KMG) is not visible in the current imaging devices,which is not good for operation monitor and post-operation examination.In this review,recent reports about visualization studies of alginate embolic microspheres were summarized;besides,the frontier research advances were also introduced,together with clinical research progress of alginate embolic microspheres as drug carriers.At last,this review also proposed direction for future developments in terms of visibility and drug loading of alginate microspheres.
