Research progress of pharmaceutical polymorphs in China based on patents analysis

Abstract：Polymorphism phenomenon of drugs is one of the most important factors which affects the quality and clinical efficacy of drugs,and directly relates to drug safety.Ether for innovative drugs or for generics,pharmaceutical polymorphs studies are extremely important.In recent years,drug polymorphs attract more and more attention from pharmaceutical companies and pharmaceutical scientists.In this paper,using patent mapping technology,the author carried out a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of patents in the field of pharmaceutical polymorphism in the past nearly 30 years,including overview on number of patent application,the technology life cycle,nationality of patent applicants,foreign competitors and a list of most important drugs in pharmaceutical polymorphism area.To find out the development path and current competitive situation of drug polymorphs will be helpful for providing reference for strategic planning-related industry in this field and assisting pharmaceutical researchers or enterprises to enhance research capability on crystalline drugs.
