Abstract:Objective:To investigate the role of fluorofenidone in inhibiting scar formation in rat cutaneous wounds and the possible mechanisms. Methods:The model of scar in rat cutaneous wounds was established and AKF-PD was administered on the wounds to investigated its effect on wound healing progress. The pathomorphological changes of fibroblast and collagen was employed as indicators of the content of scar formation. The level of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) in scar tissue was monitored to explore the possible mechanism of AKF-PD in inhibiting scar formation. Results:Compared to the blank control group, the wound healing progress of AKF-PD group was obviously postponed accompanied with significant reduction of fibroblast proliferation and collagen deposition. And the level of TGF-β1 in scar tissue was markedly decreased in the AFK-PD group.Conclusion:AKF-PD can inhibit scar formation in rat cutaneous wounds, and the mechanism might be related to inhibition of TGF-β1 expression during the scar formation progress.
