Adefovir dipivoxil-induced Fanconi syndrome: a retrospective analysis of 77 cases

Abstract:Objective:To study the clinical characteristics of adefovir dipivoxil-induced Fanconi syndrome and provide reference for rational drug use in clinic.Methods:By retrieving CNKI and PubMed during 2010-2015,a total of 40 papers involving 77 cases of Fanconi syndrome were collected and analyzed retrospectively.Results:Long-term use of adefovir dipivoxil at low-dose to treat hepatitis B might cause Fanconi syndrome,the main clinical manifestation was bone pain,accompanied with hypophosphatemia,renal glycosuria,and albuminuria.Conclusion:To ensure medication safety,the patients who would take adefovir dipivoxil for a long time should be monitored for blood electrolyte,urine routine,and ALP,and have imageological examination periodically and visit the clinic in time when adverse drug reactions occur.
