Influencing factors of the protective RISK pathway of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion
Abstract:Following the widespread use of coronary arteries intervention, bypass grafting, and thrombolysis, secondary myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury has drawn growing concerns. The protective mechanism of MI/R is becoming a research hot spot.In recent years, the conception of reperfusion injury salvage kinase (RISK) has been proposed, and more and more studies have proved that this pathway plays a key role in MI/R injury.RISK pathway is composed of PI3K/Akt and ERK1/2 pathways, which reduces the myocardial infarct size when activated. As the targets of multiple growth factors, cytokines, and drugs,RISK pathway has many activation factors and effector molecules. This article reviews the upstream and downstream influencing factors of RISK.
