Efficacy of silibinin capsules in treating 50 patients with nonalcoholic fat liver
SUN Yan-hui
Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the effect of silibinin capsules in treating nonalcoholic fat liver disease ( NAFLD). Methods: A total of 96 patients with NAFL were randomly divided into two groups; control group and treatment group. In control group, patients ( n = 46 ) were injected intravenously (iv) with intravenous infusion of 100 mg ganlinxin in 250 mL 5% glucose, qd, for 15 days. The patients in treatment group (n =50) were treated with ganlincin injection (iv, qd) and 70 mg silibinin capsules, tid, for 15 days. During the 3-month observation period, the liver function was monitored. If it was normal, treatment was ended, otherwise, treatment was continued. Transaminase activity(TA) , total cholesterol(TC) , triglyceride(TG) , ultrasonic image of liver fibrosis were observed before and after treatment. Adverse reactions were also recorded during treatment. Results; In silibinin group, the biochemical indexes were significantly reduced, such as ALT, AST, TC, TG and so on; the liver image was greatly improved. In control group ( ganlinxin alone) , ALT and AST were slightly reduced, but the liver image were not improved. The overall effective rate in silibinin group (90% ) was significantly higher than that in control group (54.3% , P<0.01). No obvious adverse reactions were found in both groups. Conclusion: Silibinin capsules is effective and safe in decreasing blood fat and preventing liver fibrosis, and can be applied to treat NAFLD.
