Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the significance of adjusting vancomycin blood concentrations in therapy for MRSA infections with concomitant of vancomycin MIC creep. Methods:One typical case of MRSA infection with concomitant of vancomycin MIC creep was analyzed. Results:This MRSA infection was treated with increasing vancomycin blood concentrations until the specific value of trough-concentration/MIC reached to 8~10 and better outcome was achieved. Conclusion:It may be necessary to adjust the vancomycin blood concentrations in therapy for MRSA infections with concomitant of vancomycin MIC creep.
