Clinical efficacy of Jianer Qingjie solution in treating acute upper respiratory infection

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the new treatment with Jianer Qingjie solution of acute upper respiratory tract infection.Methods:A total of 66 patients with acute upper respiratory tract infection(within 3 days)were enrolled.They had the symptoms and signs of gastrointestinal cold,but the peripheral blood cell count was normal.They were randomly divided into 2 groups with similar age,gender,duration and severity,and treated with Jianer Qingjie solution(n=35)or symptomatic treatment alone(control,n=31)for 3 days.Fever,cough,runny nose,sore throat,dissipated oral cavity,appetite loss,vomiting and diarrhea were observed and scored.Results:The total effective rate was 91.4%in Jianer Qingjie solution group and 74.2%in control group(P＜0.05).The antipyretic,appetite-promoting,cough-inhibiting,and nausea/vomiting-reliving effects of Jianer Qingjie solution were significantly better than those of symptomatic treatment alone.Conclusion:Jianer Qingjie solution is a suitable agent for children in treating acute upper respiratory tract infection;its advantages include reasonable prescription,slightly sweet taste,simple use,and less of side effects.
