Advances in taste masking techniques of oral pharmaceuticals at home and abroad

Abstract：Taste masking is one of the challenges for pharmaceutics.Addition of the correctant is the traditional taste masking technology,but it is limited in application.The new techniques include solid dispersion,coating technology,clathration technology,microencapsulation/microballoons and ion exchange technology.They have been used to mask taste without the limitations and drawbacks of traditional taste masking technology,and may have much wider applications of drugs.However,the new techniques also had some problems such as the standardization,industrialization,and evaluation methods for taste masking techniques.Additionally,the domestic development and application of taste masking techniques significantly lagged,so it is necessary to speed up the R & D pace.
