Progress in ligand-drug delivery system
Abstract:Biomacromolecular receptors over-expressed on the surface of tumor cells are able to connect with corresponding ligands specially. Ligand-drug delivery system is developed by linking drug with ligand. The drug can be delivered targeting to tumor cells or tissue with directing by ligand. Therefore, the drug is actively re-leased to the target, and drug selectivity and action are increased. This paper summarized the ligand-drug delivery system which connect with ligands, such as vitamins (folic acid, vitamin B_(12), and vitamin A), proteins (transfer-ring and low density lipoprotein), polysaccharides (galactose, mannose and hyaluronic acid), and integrin.
