Retrospective analysis of the use of drugs treating senile dementia in our hospital during 2006-2008

Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the drug consumption and developmental trend of the drugs treating senile dementia.Methods:The drugs treating senile dementia in our hospital during 2006-2008 were analyzed retrospectively in terms of drug varieties,consumption sum,DDDs,and daily cost.Results:The consumption sum and DDDs of the drugs treating senile dementia increased,and their daily cost was rather expensive.The consumption of brain metabolism activators was the highest;the next was the cholinesterase inhibitors,brain circulation enhancers and calcium antagonists.Conclusion:The use of drugs treating senile dementia in our hospital is generally rationable,but the problem is underuse of the drugs with clear indications.
