Abstract:Objective: To study the antitumor activity of Astragalus Polysaccharides and the levels of IL-2 and TNF-α in tumor-bearing mice. Methods:The cytotoxieity on human tumor cell lines was determined by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. The inhibitory effect on tumor growth was observed by the models of hepatoma 22 (H22) and implanted sarcoma 180 (S180) in mice. The levels of IL-2 and TNF-α in tumor-bearing mice were in-vestigated by ELISA assay. Results :Astragalus Polysaccharides had no effect on the proliferation of K562, SMMC-7721, HCT116 and A549 cells. At doses of 50 and 100 mg·kg~(-1) ,the inhibitory rates of Astragalus Polysaccharides on H22 and S180 were 32.84%, 45.09% and 36.55%, 50.35% , respectively. Astragalus Polysaccharides en-hanced the expression levels of IL-2 and TNF-α in tumor-bearing mice. Conclusion: Astragalus Polysaccharides had no cytotoxicity, but exhibited anti-tumor effect in vivo, and the mechanism may be related to enhancing the im-mune function.
