Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the safety of compound ornidazole-rhubarb buccal film. Methods:Acute skin stimulation test and mucous membrane stimulation test were performed on the skin and the oral mucosa of healthy guinea pig. The extract from the buccal film was daubed on the periodontium of Wistar rats to investigate the periodontium toxicity. Results:The response and intensity scores of the acute skin stimulation were both zero. There were no hyperemia, turgidity, debaucjed or ulceration in the oral mucosa. And there was no any cellular in-flammatory response in the periodontium. Conclusion:The compound ornidazole-rhubarb buecal film had neither stimulation to skin and oral mucosa of guinea pig, nor toxicity to rat periodontium.
