Degarelix: a new generation GnRH-antagonist for treating prostate cancer

Abstract：Drug castration therapy is important in the treatment of advanced and metastatic prostate cancer. Degarelix is a new potent GnRH-receptor antagonist, which has high water solubility, low histamine release, low systemically allergic reactions and no testosterone surge. In this article, we introduced its features of molecule con-struction, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, and clinical efficacy and safety.
