Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of compound Danshen drop pill(CDDP) on hemorheology after pereutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods: A total of 160 patients with CHD who received PCI were randomly divided into 2 groups. The patients were treated either with routine medicines, including aspirin and clopidogrel, after PCI (control, n = 77) , or with CDDP combined with routine medicines(n = 83). The hemorheology indexes were measured before PCI and 3 months after PCI. Results: After the treatments, whole blood viscosity(including high, middle and low shear) was obviously decreased in all patients. The viscosity was lower in CDDP group than in control group (P < 0.05). Also, reduced viscosity in whole blood, erythrocyte aggregation and Casson yield shear were significantly decreased after treatment in CDDP group, but not in control group. Reduced viscosity in whole blood and Casson yield shear were lower in CDDP group than in control group. Conclusion: CDDP combined with routine medicines obviously improves hemorheology after PCI, and attenuates angina pectoris in CHD patients. CDDP is important in the treatment of CHD.
