Abstract:Objective: To observe the attenuating effect of Shenqifuzheng injection on toxic reactions of NP chemotherapy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). Methods: Patients with NSCLC (n = 85) were randomly divided into two groups. They were treated with Shenqifuzheng injection 250 mL·d~(-1) and NP chemothera-py (n = 43), or with NP chemotherapy alone (control, n = 42). NP chemotherapy consisted of vinorelbine (NVB) 80 mg·m~(-2) on d 1 or 35 mg·m~(-2) on d 1~d 3, and cisplatin(DDP) 35 mg·m~(-2) on d 1 and d 8. All patients were treated for 2 cycles at an interval of 3 weeks. Results: The following indicators were better in Shenqifuzheng group than in the control group(P < 0.05) : hepatic and renal functions, T cell subpopulations, natural killer cells, KPS score, scores of life quality from European Organization for Research on Treatment of Cancer(EORTC QLQ-C30), the lung cancer module (EORTC QLQ-LC13), and distant metastasis. Conclusion: Shenqifuzheng injection can attenuate the toxicities in NSCLC patients treated with NP chemotherapy, improve the quality of life, and reduce distant metastasis.
