In vitro nephrotoxicity of nitidine chloride in human liver L-02 and kidney 293 cells

Abstract：0bjective: To study the in vitro antiproliferative effect of nitidine chloride on the human liver cell line L-02 cells and the human embryonic kidney cell line 293 cells. Methods: MTT assay was used to assess the antiproliferative effect of nitidine choride in tumor cells,L-02 cells and 293 cells. We compared their IC_(50)values for the effect of nitidine chloride .The levels of SOD,MDA and LDH in cultural media were measured by ultra-violet spectrophotometry. Results: Nitidine chloride inhibited growth of tumor cells as well as L-02 cells and 293 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Conclusion: Nitidine chloride is cytotoxic in tumor cells, and inhibits the proliferation of L-02 cells and 293 cells.
