Efficacy of Yikang powder combined with tapazol in the patients with Graves disease

Abstract：Objective: To investigate the effect of Yikang powder combined with tapazol in the patients with Graves disease (GD).Methods: 126 cases of GD were randomly divided into two groups. Test group was treated with Yikang powder(one pouch, bid)combined with tapazol (1Omg,tid).Control group was treated with tapazol a-lone. All subjects were evaluated with serum FT3,FT4,TPOAb,TGAb levels, goitre volume and exophthalmos at 15 and 30 d after therapy, and then every 1～2 month for all of the follow-up period over 6 months. Results: The clini-cal symptoms and signs were significantly improved after treatment in both groups, except control group in 15 days (P<0.01).The efficacy on improving palpitation, aversion to heat, sweating, bulimia and maransis was better in the test group than that in the control group respectively(P<0.0 1).TPOAb and TGAb level was decreased gradu-ally. After 6 months, the differences of the excellence rate and effective rate between the two groups were significant in TPOAb, TGAb, goitre volume and exophthalmos(P<0.05,p<0.01).Conclusion: Yikang powder plus tapazol can improve thyroid clinical symptoms and signs, and it showed effect on adjusting goiter volume and exophthalmos.
