Progress in global research and development of cardiovascular medicines

Abstract：Globally, cardiovascular disease (CVD) kills more people than any other diseases. Therefore, epidemiological considerations mean that CVD will remain an important area of public health concern in the main pharmaceutical markets. The panorama of the cardiovascular medicines was thoroughly analyzed concerning the status quo, marketing analysis and R&D actuality. Despite of the more challenging environment, several major players seem to consider that the CVD market still includes areas of important unmet need. Meanwhile, the latest progress in the major fields of CVD, such as anticlotting agents, atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart failure, angina, antiarrhythmic drugs, and the key developing drugs in development were reviewed in this paper as well.
