One case analysis for severe diarrhea in neurological department

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the reasons of diarrhea in intensive care unit,providing reference for the clinical pharmacists to treat severe diarrhea patients. Methods: During the treatment of a severe diarrhea pa-tient ,the clinical pharmacists found the reasons and treatment methods according to the medication,laboratory exam-ination,clinical symptoms and so on. Results: During the hospitalization of 54 days,the patient suffered from diar-rhea for three times. The reasons of diarrhea were cathartic effect,antibiotic associated diarrhea,and enteral nutrition intolerance,respectively. Conclusion: For diarrhea of severe patients,the clinical pharmacists should comprehen-sively analyze and treat the disorder based on the factors such as the disease condition,medication and nutrition.
