Stronger neo-minophagen C combined with topical 5% minoxidil solution in the treatment of 48 patients with alopecia areata

Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of stronger neo-minophagen C (SNMC) combined with topi-cal 5% minoxidil solution in patients with alopecia areata. Methods: A total of 118 patients were randomly divided into 3 groups. They were treated with oral SNMC in combination with topical 5% minoxidil solution (combined ther-apy,n =48) ,oral SNMC alone (n =37) ,or topical 5% minoxidil solution alone ( n = 33). Results: The cure rate was 62.16% vs 42.42% and the total effective rate was 78. 38% vs 69. 70% ,respectively,in SNMC or minoxidil alone groups. While the cure rate was 83. 33% and the total effective rate was 97. 92% in the combined therapy group. The combination was significantly superior to SNMC or the minoxidil alone (P <0.01). Conclusion: SNMC combined with topical 5% minoxidil solution shows better efficacy for alopecia areata.
