Efficacy of oxycodone-acetaminophen tablet in treating severe back pain in orthopedics

Abstract：Objective: To evaluate therapeutic efficacy of oxycodone-acetaminophen tablet in treating se-vere back pain in orthopedics. Methods: Patients with severe back pain ( n = 68) , including osteoporosis ( n = 33 ) and spinal tumor (n =35) ,were treated with oral oxycodone-acetaminophen, 1 ～2 tablets,tid. for 7 days. Visual an-alogue scales were adopted to observe changes in degrees of pain severity and pain-relief. Results: Satisfactory effects of pain relief were observed in both groups. Moderate and complete pain reliefs were 94. 2% and 57. 1% in spinal tumor group,and 100% and 66. 7% in osteoporosis group 7 days after treatment with oxycodone-acetamino-phen tablets. Conclusion: Oxycodone-acetaminophen tablet has satisfactory effect of pain relief in treating severe back pain in orthopedics.
