Abstract:Objective :To observe the effects of compound Danshen dropping pills on serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods: A total of 88 patients with ACS were enrolled in a randomized and controlled trial. They were treated with compound Danshen dropping pills ( n = 45 ) or conventional therapy ( control,n = 43 ) . Serum levels of PAPP-A and hs-CRP were detected before and 4 weeks after the treatments. Results: After treatment with compound Danshen dropping pills, the levels of serum PAPP-A and hs-CRP were significantly decreased ( P < 0.01). The differences between the two groups were significant after treatment ( P < 0.05). Conclusion: Compound Danshen dropping pills decreases the breakdown of coronary atheromatous plaques, and attenuates inflammatory reactions in patients with ACS. It can stabilize the plaque.
