Progress in research of parthenolide

Abstract：Extracts from plants of sesquiterpene lactones have been used as folk remedies for migraine, inflammatory arthritis,and tumors. Parthenolide (PAR) ,one of the major products from sesquiterpene lactones is an active ingredient responsible for many pharmacological activities including anti-inflammatory, antioxidand activities, anti-tumor activity, inhibiting the activation of NF-kappaB ,ect. The review was to summarise some newly available research data about PAR and provide more information for further use of PAR.
