Pharmacological activity of chitosan-g-salicylic acid derivatives

Abstract：Objective:To investigate pharmacological activity of different molecular weight and different rates of graft chitosan-g-salicylic acid. Methods : The pharmacological effect of the drug difference, anti-inflammato-ry, analgesic and anticoagulant function of different molecular weight, different rates of graft chitosan-g-salicylic acid was investigated, with salicylic acid and aspirin as the positive control. The difference of pharmacology was measured between chitosan-g-salicylic acid and positive control. Results:At the same concentration level, the anti-inflammatory activity and the anticoagulant activity of chitosan-g-salicylic was equal to those of aspirin,and the im-mediate analgesic effect was weaker than that of aspirin. The long-term analgesic effect was better than that of aspi-rin. Conclusion:Chitosan-g-salicylic acid shows considerable anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-clotting activi-ties compared with aspirin, and has the fine application prospect.
