Abstract:Objective:To assess the effects of long acting isosorbide mononitrate (Elantan Long) for chronic stable angina pectoris.Methods:161 patients with chronic stable angina pectoris were treated with Elantan Long or isosorbide dinitrate(ISDN).In comparison with ISDN,the anti-ischemic effect of Elantan Long was assessed by total ischemic burden (TIB) with Holter monitoring and ischemic myocardial area(IMA) with JT99m,D,Zc-MIBI myocardial imaging. Results:The TIB and IMA of patients treated with Elantan Long for 3,6,and 12 months were lower than those with ISDN.The ischemic related cardial events were also fewer than those with ISDN.Conclusion:Elantan Long has long-term anti-ischemic effects and reduces the incidence of ischemic-related events of patients with chronic stable angina pectoris.
