Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lev ofloxacin mesylate in treatment of urinary tract infections.Methods:The study was conducted in 30 patients with urinary tract bacterial infection s and 70 patients who are going to receive urinary tract operations.The former p atients were treated with 400mg/d i.v.levofloxacin mesylate for 5～7 d to manag e infections and the latter patients were treated with 400mg/d i.v.levofloxacin mesylate for 5d to prevent infections.Results:A total effective r ate of 93.3% including a cure rate of 86.7% was obtained with 2 cases of mild ra sh(2%) and 2 cases of elevated live r function(2%).Conclusion:Levofloxacin mesylate is an effective an d safe agent for treatment of urinary tract infections with mild side effect.
