Abstract：Objectives:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of do mestic glimepiride capsule in treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Meth ods:40 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomly and equally as signed to receive once daily 2～8 mg either domestic or imported glimepirmide ca psule for 8 weeks.The fasting blood glucose (FBG)and postprandial blood glucose( PBG) were measured before and after treatment.Results:The decrease in FBG,PBG,and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) were 3.14 mmol/L(32.31%),4.96 mmol/L(37.36%)and 1.69%(16.98%)respectively and no significant difference betwee n active and control group was observed.Conclusions:Domestic glime piride capsule is as effective as imported one in decreasing FBG,PBG,and HbAlc .
