Overview of the newly developed anti-rheumatic drugs

Abstract：Three classes of newly developed anti-rheumatic drugs were reviewed in this paper.They are:①COX-2 selective inhibitors including celecoxib and rofecoxib which are as the effective as current used NSAIDs but wi th significant lower GI side effects especially regarding to PUB.②Leflunomide ,one of the disease modifyed antirheumatic drugs(DMARD),shows an effectiveness s imillar to MTX in treatment of RA.③New bological products for treatment of RA include TNF blocker and IL-1 recepotor antogonist.The former includes etanerce pt(ENBREL)and infliximab all show better results in phase Ⅱ trials and the latt er also show better anti-rheumatic effect in clinical trial with mild ADRs.
