THE IMMUNOREGULATORY EFFECT OF THYMOSIN α1 IN TREATMENT OF SEVERE HEPATITIS
Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To observe the immunoregulatory effect of thymosin α1 (Tα1).METHODS: 18 patients with sever hepatitis were treated with 1.6 mg Tα1 every two-days for 28 days. The serum level of LSP,TNF, IL-2R, IL-4, IL-6, and CD4T and CD8T cells were measured before and after treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, the serum level of LSP, TNF, IL-2R, IL-6, and CD8Tcells were decreased and the IL-4 serum level and CD4T-cells amount were increased. CONCLUSION:Tα1 is a potent immunoregulatory agent and the immunodamage of liver cells in severe hepatitis patients can be reduced by it.
