Abstract:Coronary heart disease(CHD)in young adults, the occurrence of CHD in individuals aged 45 years or younger, represents a distinct subtype of the condition and has exhibited an increasing incidence in recent years.Current evidence indicates that insulin resistance serves as a key pathophysiological mechanism driving both the onset and progression of CHD within this demographic. In this context, the triglyceride-glucose index has emerged as a novel marker of insulin resistance, demonstrating significant research potential and clinical relevance. This review aims to explore the association between the triglyceride-glucose index and CHD in young adults, elucidate the underlying mechanisms, and discuss related intervention strategies, with the goal of providing new insights for the early identification and management of this condition.
