Research progress on prognosis of coronary heart disease complicated with diabetes mellitus

Abstract：Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CHD)and diabetes mellitus(DM),as two major metabolic-related chronic diseases now,exhibit a synergistic rise in prevalence.Notably,their co-occurrence would form a vicious pathological cycle that leads to adverse clinical outcomes such as doubled cardiovascular event risks and exacerbated target organ damage,posing significant challenges in contemporary chronic disease management.This review comprehensively examines the epidemiological characteristics,pathogenic mechanisms,the impact of diabetes duration on CHD prognosis and therapeutic strategies regarding the CHD-DM comorbidity,aiming to provide a theoretical foundation for comprehensive clinical management.
