Abstract:Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome(CKM)is a systemic disease caused by the interaction of common pathophysiological mechanisms of obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. In addition to the traditional risk factors, the gut microbiota and its metabolites have been found to be associated with cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease and metabolic syndrome, and may serve as new potential therapeutic targets. This review aims to summarize the changes in the gut microbiota and their metabolites, and the potential mechanisms involved in the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease and metabolic syndrome.
