Abstract:With population aging, the incidence of atrial fibrillation continues to rise.As an important measure of stroke prevention for patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, left atrial appendage closure(LAAC)has been increasingly used, and its safety and efficacy have been widely recognized. However, device migration or embolization(DME)as a rare yet serious complication following LAAC,may lead to systemic embolism, arrhythmia even death. This article reviews the incidence, prognostic impact, mechanisms, diagnostic approaches and prevention and management strategies of device migration or embolization after left atrial appendage closure, with the aim to provide reference for clinical practice.
