Abstract:Previous medications for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF)have had limited success, with a high rate of hospitalization and mortality and a 5-year mortality rate similar to that of malignancy. In recent years,a series of landmark clinical trials have significantly improved the prognosis of patients with HFrEF.This article reviews recent advances in the treatment of HFrEF with angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors,sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors, vericiguat, omecamtiv mecarbil and anti-inflammatory agents.
