Abstract:Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus that significantly increases the risk of heart failure and death in diabetic patients.Recent studies have shown that mitochondrial autophagy restores mitochondrial homeostasis, attenuates oxidative stress, and ameliorates DCM by removing damaged mitochondria from cardiomyocytes. This article provides an in-depth discussion of the molecular regulatory mechanisms, including mitochondrial autophagy pathways such as PINK1/Parkin,FUNDC1 and AMPK/mTOR,and further analyzes the role of sodium-glucose cotransporter protein 2 inhibitors, glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonists and biguanides by regulating mitochondrial autophagy to improve the potential mechanism of DCM,in order to provide new ideas and theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of DCM.
