Obesity management is imperative:Current Status and Challenges

Abstract：Since the 1990s,China has experienced rapid economic and social development,and the prevalence of overweight and obesity among the Chinese population has risen rapidly.Obesity is closely related to various diseases such as cardiovascular diseases,diabetes,and cancer.Its prevalence has caused serious health and economic burdens.The occurrence and development of obesity are influenced by individual factors,such as diet,physical activity,and genetic susceptibility,as well as external environmental factors such as economy condition and society circumstance,the intervention of obesity need to be comprehensively considered.Currently,the primary treatment for obesity is lifestyle intervention;the approaches of drug or surgical treatment supported by high-quality evidence are also promising.However,the improvement of obesity management in population still requires the attention of the entire society,and continuous efforts with the help of new technologies and methods.
