Abstract:Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common type of arrhythmia.Current first-line clinical treatments primarily include medication management and catheter ablation. However, given the numerous challenges faced by existing atrial fibrillation treatment options in clinical practice, such as safety concerns with traditional ablation techniques and the side effects of pharmacological treatments, there is an urgent clinical need for new treatment strategies to improve therapeutic outcomes and patient prognosis. The"Pill In The Pocket"(PITP)cardioversion strategy aims to utilize smart devices for real-time detection of atrial fibrillation and the rapid termination of atrial fibrillation episodes using Class Ⅰ c antiarrhythmic drugs. This article mainly summarizes the latest advancements in the PITP approach for atrial fibrillation cardioversion.
