Abstract:Tricuspid valve regurgitation(TR)is a clinical problem that has not been fully recognized and is related with significant mortality rates.Patients often experience severe right heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and systemic symptoms in the later stages of the disease, with few good treatment options available. In recent years, there have been increasing studies on the use of transcatheter tricuspid valve therapy for TR patients with limited treatment options.Further understanding is needed regarding the anatomy of the tricuspid valve, the etiology and classification of TR and perioperative management of tricuspid valve intervention. This article summarizes the important background, anatomical considerations, and perioperative considerations for the treatment of TR.
