Abstract:Intrinsic cardiac autonomic nervous system via ganglionated plexi(GP)participates in regulating the development of atrial fibrillation(AF).However, the clinical efficacy of GP ablation remains to be determined. The GP is the critical structure for vagus reflex during circumferential pulmonary vein isolation(CPVI)for AF.Ablation of right anterior GP can inhibit the vagus reflex during CPVI procedure, thus helping to improve the safety and efficiency of CPVI for the AF.Ablation of GP also helps to improve the outcome of AF with bradycardia. The long-term efficacy of GP ablation remains to be determined.
