Abstract:The prevalence of cardiovascular disease in China remains high.It is estimated that the incidence of CVD has been over 330 million by 2022.Autonomic nervous dysfunction, mainly manifested as increased sympathetic nerve activity and decreased parasympathetic nerve function is common in cardiovascular diseases which is considered to increase the risk of cardiac death. To evaluate the vagal tone, deceleration capacity(DC)of heart rate is often employed as a non-invasive quantitative measurement index. It has been widely used in diagnosis of CVD including coronary heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmia and cardiac insufficiency for the specificity and accuracy. It is mainly used to distinguish high-risk CVD patients, explore the pathogenesis and evaluate the prognosis of patients. This paper reviews the progress of research on the heart rate DC,including application of DC in diagnosis, prognosis, risk stratification in CVD.
