Abstract:Objective To investigate the impacts of triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index on 30-day outcomes in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)complicated with ventricular septal rupture(VSR).Methods A total of 132 patients diagnosed of AMI complicated with VSR from January 2009 to October 2023 in Fuwai Hospital and People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were collected and dividid into the low TyG group(TyG≤9.25,n=71)and high TyG group(TyG>9.25,n=61).The clinical features, hospital related examination results, treatment and prognosis of these patients were recorded.Multivariable Cox regression analysis and Kaplan-Meier analysis were used to evaluate the prognostic value of TyG index in the patients. Results Compared with the low TyG group, the patients of the high TyG group were older[(67.6±8.4)years vs.(64.0±10.2)years,P=0.028],with a higher proportion of males(50.8%vs.31.0%,P=0.020),a greater increase of white blood cell level[(13.54±5.55)×109/L vs.(11.03±4.45)×109/L,P=0.005]and a higher 30 day all-cause mortality rate(57.4%vs.36.6%,P=0.017).Multivariate regression analysis suggested low TyG index was the independent protective predictor of 30-day all-cause mortality(HR=0.502,95%CI 0.302-0.835,P=0.008).Conclusion TyG index may be associated with 30-day mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction with ventricular septal rupture.
