The value of triglyceride-glucose index in evaluating coronary heart disease in middle-aged people of different genders

Abstract：Objective To investigate the value of triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index in evaluating coronary heart disease(CHD)in middle-aged people of different genders.Method A total of 433 middle-aged people who underwent coronary angiography in Liuzhou People's Hospital from January 2015 to December 2022 were selected as the research subjects.The general data,laboratory examination indicators and coronary angiography results of the subjects were collected.The research subjects of different genders were divided into low TyG index group(male:107 cases;female:106 cases)and high TyG index group(male:111 cases;female:109 cases)according to median TyG index.Multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of CHD in middle-aged people of different genders.ROC curve was used to evaluate the value of TyG index in predicting CHD in middle-aged people of different genders.Results Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age(OR=1.103,95%CI 1.043-1.166),smoking history(OR=2.173,95%CI 1.199-3.938)and HDL-C(OR=0.244,95%CI 0.062-0.961)were independent influencing factors of CHD in middle-aged male people(P<0.05);age(OR=1.121,95%CI 1.032-1.218)and TyG index(OR=2.606,95%CI 1.220-5.567)were independent influencing factors of CHD in middle-aged female people(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve of TyG index in predicting CHD in middle-aged male and female people were[0.603(95%CI 0.526-0.680),P=0.009]and 0.756(95%CI 0.686-0.826),P<0.001]respectively.Conclusion Increased TyG index is not an independent risk factor for CHD in middle-aged male people,with low predictive value.However,increased TyG index is an independent risk factor for CHD in middle-aged female people,with medium predictive value.
