Abstract:Heart sound is an mechanical wave originate from the vibration produced by the contraction of myocardium, the closing of the cardiac valves and the impact of blood flow on the aortic wall and the ventricular wall, etc. The changes of cardiovascular hemodynamics and abnormal cardiac structure are often accompanied by the changes of heart sound. The most direct way to obtain heart sound is auscultation, but the results are greatly influenced by the doctor's experience.Phonocardiogram is a time sequence waveform graph made from the vibration of the heart sound.Acoustic cardiography is a new technology based on computer-assisted diagnosis with the synchronous acquisition and analysis of the electric and acoustical signal of the heart. In recent years, great progress has been made in the clinical application of the acoustic cardiography, especially in the screening, diagnosis and prognosis of the cardiovascular diseases. This article reviews the research progress of acoustic cardiography in the clinical application.
