Abstract:Glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)is an endogenous peptide hormone that primarily regulates blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion and inhibiting the release of glucagon.GLP-1 receptor agonists,as a class of innovative synthetic hypoglycemic drugs, can have the same effect as GLP-1,while possessing stronger anti-degradation properties.Current research indicates that GLP-1 receptor agonists can significantly reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events in patients with type 2 diabetes and improve the prognosis of cardiovascular diseases, although their exact mechanisms of action remain to be further clarified. This article reviews the anti-apoptotic effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists on cardiac myocytes and their potential mechanisms, aiming to deepen the understanding of the role of GLP-1 receptor agonists in cardiovascular protection, which is of great significance for optimizing treatment strategies for diabetic patients.
