Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of physical examination indicators on pulse pressure in adult residents of Zhuang and Han ethnic in Guangxi.Method A retrospective analysis was conducted based on the data of Han and Zhuang adult residents from 9 districts and counties in Guangxi who participated in the China Hypertension Prevalence Survey from January 2012 to December 2015.Result The average pulse pressure of Zhuang and Han adult residents groups in Guangxi was(52.94±15.95)mmHg.The average pulse pressure of the Zhuang was higher than Han[(55.23±16.17)mmHg vs.(50.59±15.38)mmHg,P<0.05].The prevalence of wide pulse pressure was 25.6%,and Zhuang ethnic group was higher than Han(30.0%vs.21.0%,P<0.05).Linear regression showed that pulse pressure values were positively related with age, basal metabolic rate(BMR),visceral fat index(VFI)and mean arterial pressure(MAP)in Han and Zhuang but negatively related with body weight and heart rate. The pulse pressure value of the Zhuang was positively related with the body fat rate(BFR)but negatively related with waist height ratio.Logistic regression showed that women, age, weight,BMR,BFR,VFI and MAP were the common risk factors for the prevalence of wide pulse pressure in both Zhuang and Han.Conclusion The average pulse pressure and prevalence of wide pulse pressure among adult Zhuang residents are higher than Han in Guangxi. There are racial differences in prevalence of wide pulse pressure.Body weight,BMR,BFR,VFI,and MAP are the common influencing factors for the prevalence of wide pulse pressure in both Zhuang and Han.
