Clinical experience of 42 patients with ruptured sinus of valsalva aneurysm
Abstract:Objective To summarize the clinical experience of emergency surgical treatment on ruptured sinus of valsalva aneurysm (RSVA).Methods 42 patients with RSVA from January 2006 to August 2016,23 males and 19 females, aged from 18-60 (38.1±5.3)years;the weight ranged from 36.9-72.7 (50.7±6.1)kg;the course of the disease from 8-96(40.1±5.2)h.The aneurysm ruptured into the right ventricle in 26 cases, right atrium in 14 cases, the right ventricle and right atrium in 2 cases.Associated cardiac anomalies included ventricular septum defect in 21 patients, aortic regurgitation in 12 patients, tricuspid regurgitation in 13 patients, mitral valve regurgitation in 2 patients, infectious endocarditis in 2 patients. All the patients were underwent the repair of ruptured aortic sinus aneurysm and correction of associated anomalies with cardiopulmonary bypass. Results There were no operative deaths.1 case of patient was with late-onset bleeding and 2 cases of patients with low cardiac output syndrome and 2 patients with acute renal failure. All patients were clinical cured.Follow-up was 2-96 (59.7t11.1)months,the result was satisfactory. Conclusion The patients with RSVA should accept the emergency surgical repair when the internal medicine treatment for acute heart failure was invalid, and the protection of complications should be noticed.
