The synergistic effect of estradiol and testosterone joint KLF4 play against anti-atherosclerotic effect
Abstract:Objective This study focused on the relationship between testosterone,estradiol,KLF4 and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) to investigate the value of clinical application in coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD).Methods We enrolled 162 AMI male patients who admitted to the Department of Cardiology at Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University between January 2017 and May 2017 into the experimental group, and enrolled 134 healthy men into the control group. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) were used to measure the serum KLF4 level.Testosterone and estradiol were assessed through a competitive immunoassay using direct chemiluminescent technology. Results The serum levels of KLF4 and estradiol were higher in the experimental group than in the control group.KLF4 (38.53±5.61)ng/ml vs (15.83±2.99)ng/ml,estradiol (277.32± 13.84)pg/ml vs (37.68±1.29)pg/ml.The serum levels of testosterone was lower in the experimental group than in the control group(450.05±14.42)ng/dl vs (33.49± 2.43)ng/dl.KLF4 positively correlated with the level of estra diol, which negative correlated with the level of testosterone(P<0.05).Conclusion The synergistic effect of estradiol and testosterone jointed KLF4 plays anti-atherosclerotic effect, and had very important clinical value.
